JOHN MICHEL, PHOTOGRAPHER

As a photographer, I was first inspired by my father who was one of the first professional photographers trained in Switzerland to develop color prints.  As a boy, I remember many nights in the darkroom developing prints, patiently waiting for the images to slowly reveal themselves in each chemical bath.  For weddings, I started as the flash assistant and later the trusted the second shooter.

 

For me taking photographs is a true lifelong passion. Currently, I strive to help my clients find their best selves reflected in their portraits, publicity photos, or life events. I love to capture genuine moments, natural beauty, and the unique character of each individual personality. 

 

As a professional musician and professor of music, I understand that clear communication, collaboration, and planning are keys to great music-making as well as artistic photos.  As a cellist, I endeavor to express the emotional intentions of each composer’s style of music. 

 

As a photographer, my goal is to frame images that capture different facets of my client’s personality. Anyone can snap a decent shot with a phone these days, but creating inspired, artistic pictures takes time and skill. Let's work together to create your special images!
